Lei Wu Jie, a disciple of the Lei Clan, is eager to show his worth as a hero. However, as a novice who has only recently entered the martial arts industry, the path to becoming a true hero is, at best, challenging. Wu Jie travels to the great city of Xue Yue, confident that his time there will mold him into the hero he longs to be, despite the obstacles he faces. An unfortunate incident at the Villa of Fallen Snow prevents him from making it to Xue Yue.
Xiao Se, the Villa’s owner, has the good looks of a wealthy innkeeper, but he barely has the money to keep the inn open. Xiao Se, who is having trouble running his business, is not happy when the actions of a young wannabe hero cause damage to his establishment. Wu Jie can only think of one way to placate the irate Xiao Se: to take him with him and demand that he compensate for the harm he had done. The two of them set out on their own, with no idea of what their fate would bring.
Xiao Se and Wu Jie make friends with a number of people along the way, including Wu Xin, Sikong Qian Luo, Tang Lian, and Ye Ruo Yi. Soon, they are involved in an adventure that is much bigger than any of them could have imagined. The group encounters a trail of clues that links one of them to a battle for the throne that took place more than a decade ago, despite the numerous dangers they face. Is the brave hero prepared and willing to assume his rightful position as the people’s leader? And from there, where will the brotherhood go?
