An, a former clothing manufacturer, is framed and imprisoned during the Prosperity of Zhenguan, or reign of Emperor Tai Zong (627–649). She leaves her young daughter Liu Li in the care of an old palace friend when she is in danger.
Growing up in the palace, Liu Li becomes a medical officer who is in charge of preventing epidemics. Additionally, she inherits her mother’s exceptional sewing skills. She meets Pei Xing Jian, who is exceptionally skilled and helps her escape the danger after she falls into a trap set by those who are jealous of her. Liu Li and her mother work together to uncover the truth about her mother’s case and secretly fall in love.
